Saturday might have been the official start of the 2013 NBA Playoffs but Sunday things really ramp up as the defending champion Miami Heat take the floor in an Eastern Conference first round matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. Miami is not the only No. 1 seed in action on Sunday as the Western Conference's top seed the Oklahoma City Thunder will battle the Houston Rockets in the evening.
After dominating the Eastern Conference throughout the season the Heat will take on the No. 8 seed Bucks on Sunday (7 p.m. ET TNT). Miami had a 27 game winning streak during the season finished 12 games better than anyone else in the East and won three of four contests with Milwaukee. The main intrigue in this series will be how Miami responds to remarks from Bucks' guard Brandon Jennings who made it known his team does not fear the defending champs and is looking forward to this playoff matchup.
Out West an intriguing first round No. 1 vs. No. 8 matchup will pit Oklahoma City against Houston and former teammate James Harden (9 30 p.m. ET TNT). The Thunder took two of three games during the regular season but in Houston's one victory Harden torched his former team for 46 points. The bearded one no longer coming off the bench as he did in Oklahoma City ended the year fifth in the NBA in scoring. The series should be a high scoring affair as it will feature two of the NBA's top three scoring teams (Houston 106 points per game and Oklahoma City 105.7 ppg).
Also in action on Sunday the No. 6 seed Atlanta Hawks face the No. 3 seed Indiana Pacers (1 p.m. ET TNT) and the Kobe less Lakers the No. 7 seed out West tip off against old nemesis Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs (3 30 p.m. ET ABC). Atlanta and Indiana split their season series 2 2 while the Spurs took two of three from the Lakers during the regular season.
