Almost a year after he shattered the NCAA record for points in a basketball game Jack Taylor once again reached triple digits with a 109 point effort against Crossroads College on Sunday. And even though it was probably another orchestrated some would say sham performance by Grinnell College to get in the record books at least Taylor only took 38 threes this time (he hoisted 71 and 108 total field goal attempts in last year s record breaker).

Division III school Grinnell has a history of running up the score on weaker opponents (Crossroads dropped to 0 9 with the loss on Sunday) and funneling their offense through one guy to an almost hilarious degree. From Tyler Burns account of last year s game

There were a LOT of possessions where Taylor would chuck up a shot miss and his teammate would get the rebound wide open under the basket. Instead of putting it back up he would look for Taylor again and pass it out so he could chuck another three. There were many possessions where this happened three times each. Six three point attempts in two trips down the court.

So yeah even though the 5 10 Taylor can clearly ball he wouldn t put up that many points in say a game against Michigan State or Kansas. You can watch some of Taylor s highlights here (the video repeats the same shots after awhile)

Let the record show that Taylor also had two assists.
