Ohio State Football Braxton Miller Is Playing at an Elite Level

He's throwing the ball with tremendous accuracy. He's running the ball with renewed strength. He's producing at the most efficient level of his career.

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller is playing at an elite level.

According to Rusty Miller of the AP Miller's familiarity with Urban Meyer's offense is starting to pay off.

Through the (last two years) with coach (Urban) Meyer and the offense I've been learning every game Miller said. I just improve myself and show what I've got.

In his last two games against Iowa and Penn State Miller completed 78.4 percent of his passes for 474 yards and five touchdowns (against no interceptions). He's also ran with incredible purpose piling up 170 yards and two scores on the ground.

Braxton Miller is 7 in the nation in passing efficiency and 6 in completion percentage.

The Buckeyes needed Miller's brilliance to come from behind to beat upset minded Iowa. Against Penn State Miller wasted no time completing 15 of his 18 first half throws for 204 yards and two touchdowns. He finished with a career high 252 passing yards in what amounted to two and a half quarters of action in a 63 14 rout.

Meyer believes his quarterback is evolving according to the AP article.

I just love where Braxton's at right now. I love the fact that he's acting like a quarterback. I'm not disrespecting Braxton. But I felt like he was an athlete playing quarterback a year ago. He's a quarterback that's really a good athlete now.

Miller entered the season as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy but his campaign was derailed in Week 2 when he suffered a knee sprain against San Diego State.

Miller missed most of the next three games before returning for the start of Big Ten play. He was spectacular against Wisconsin piling up 281 total yards to complement four passing touchdowns in a 31 24 victory.

It was his performance against Northwestern when he turned the ball over three times and accounted for zero touchdowns that created a quarterback controversy.

Miller's backup Kenny Guiton was tremendous in relief duty throwing for 643 yards and 12 touchdowns during Miller's recovery. Meyer admitted that he nearly benched Miller in favor of Guiton against the Wildcats but ultimately decided to stick with his junior signal caller.

That decision sparked Miller's incredible play and by extension Ohio State's offense as a whole.

Penn State head coach Bill O'Brien had a front row seat for Miller's best performance and needless to say he came away impressed.

He's one of the best players in college football O'Brien said via the AP article.

If Miller continues his tremendous play he could help the Buckeyes become the best team in college football.
