Lending an ear to Lupe Fiasco's latest comeback should be an easy task. The rapper's new single Old School Love which features Taylor Swift's touring buddy Ed Sheeran is an easygoing positive jam that fights the good fight.
As long as I'm here as long as you love me give me that old school love right now sings Sheeran over a beat that's reminiscent of Kanye West's College Dropout cut Family Business.
The song which hit iTunes today (Oct. 14) is the first single from Lupe Fiasco's forthcoming full length album Tetsuo and Youth which is expected in 2014 via Atlantic Records.
Fiasco has been looking to get back on top of the game following the tepid reception of his last album Food Liquor II The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1. Even so he's had some solid chart traction since his previous top 10 hit 2007's Superstar. His 2011 album Lasers produced the hit The Show Goes On which went to No. 9 on the Hot 100 chart. Given the crossover appeal Old School Love has a great shot at doing the same.
Sheeran recently returned from a six month trek opening for Taylor Swift on her Red tour. He's closing out a breakout year by headlining NYC's Madison Square Garden three times (Oct. 29 Nov.1 and Nov. 7).
