Hollywood Night made for a snazzy Week Three of Dancing With the Stars.

Judges Carrie Ann Inaba Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli were in good spirits but the big question was whether Bill Nye would be able to dance.

The Science Guy was shown backstage getting medical treatment his pant leg pulled up as he sat on a gurney with a nurse by his side. His pro partner Tyne Stecklein told co host Brooke Burke Charvet that he had torn 80% of his quadriceps during a fall on last week's show. Nye had tweeted earlier in the week that he had a partially torn ligament. Stecklein said The doctor said do not dance on it so it's been really tough. She mentioned that she injured her knee too. Would they be able to dance

Actor Brant Daugherty was also battling an injury. He sprained something in his foot and said he had been dancing in a boot most of the week. He took the boot off to dance because the show must go on.

Here's how it all played out

Daugherty had a bad week. Not only did he hurt his foot he also lost his phone and then was robbed at gunpoint. He gave the robber a bag with Latin dance shoes he said. So there's a robber dancing out there somewhere. Daugherty's strained ligament made it tough to practice his quickstep with partner Peta Murgatroyd. But he pulled it off on the dance floor with no apparent problem performing a smooth flapper themed number. Len said it was painless to watch. Bruno said he was the perfect matinee idol. They both felt he dropped his frame a little. Carrie Ann said she couldn't believe he was hurt. Scores 9 9 9 27

Corbin Bleu who seems to have an unfair advantage because of his song and dance background said learning the quickstep was no slam dunk. Partner Karina Smirnoff said she was making it the fastest ever on the show. Bleu pointed out that it's his first ballroom dance. I'm nervous ... and Karina's crazy she's just like zooming ahead. And their quickstep was quick. It was incredibly fast I've never seen anything like it raved Bruno. Carrie Ann said he nailed it. Len quibbled about a few things but said it was fabulous. Scores 9 8 9 26

Christina Milian sporting a red wig and garters and Mark Ballas sporting a white clown face danced a Charleston that got the ballroom audience on its feet well before the number had finished. That was incredible said Carrie Ann. Len wanted a little more swivel in her hips but said it was top notch. Bruno said it was so inventive and loved her stylistic details. Scores 9 8 9 26

Snooki channeled Marilyn Monroe for her quickstep. I feel like in my past life I was Marilyn Monroe she explained. During rehearsals her partner Sasha Farber says she puts on a tough girl persona but she really wants to win this. Snooki was unhappy with last week's scores and said she felt like a loser. She definitely redeemed herself working the ballroom in a long red dress for her quickstep even pulling off a perfect cartwheel with her partner at one point. Len said she surprised him. Bruno said she was on fire. Carrie Ann said You are a superstar. Scores 9 8 8 25

Elizabeth Berkley Lauren was blindfolded during rehearsals by partner Val Chmerkovskiy so that she would learn trust. She got choked up saying their relationship is special. Their foxtrot was airline themed. He played a pilot and she was a flight attendant as they swirled around the floor to Come Fly With Me. Her long limbs seemed to sweep over the entire ballroom. Carrie Ann saw a small boo boo but otherwise called it flawless. Len said it was chicken soup to the eyes. Delicious satisfying... Bruno said she was flying first class all the way even though she hit some pockets of turbulence in the performance. Scores 8 9 8 25

Amber Riley and Derek Hough rocked a rousing Charleston even though she had a super busy week working on her album and a new Glee episode. As always their dance was incredibly fun and creative. The ballroom cheered like crazy. Len said it was well done. Bruno noted their ability to create rip roaring excitement. They both quibbled about her feet and Carrie Ann agreed saying Amber's top half was fantastic but her feet were low energy compared to the rest. Scores 8 8 8 24

Leah Remini continued to worry about her ability to stay on the show. I've never danced she kept saying. But she put her acting skills into play to make her rumba into sexy and sultry Bond girl stuff done to Skyfall. The audience loved it. Len loved the chemistry and said it was more Hollywood than Deadwood. Bruno praised her skills as a seductress adding I'm going straight here They both wanted more fluidity in her arms. Carrie Ann disagreed and said you have turned up the steam notch. Scores 8 8 8 24

Bill Engvall played the Lone Ranger for a paso doble with partner Emma Slater. I am thinking about dance steps 24/7. ... It's real stressful said Engvall who had to keep comedy tour dates this week while also rehearsing. But he added . I want to win this he said. His paso to the Lone Range music made for a dramatic dance that earned him raves from the audience and the judges. Hi ho Engvall said host Tom Bergeron when they finished. You nailed the paso said Carrie Ann. You must have rehearsed the poop out of that routine. Len said it was his best dance. Bruno said So much attack Scores 8 8 8 24

Ozzy Sharon and Kelly Osbourne watch Week Two of 'Dancing With the Stars.'(Photo Adam Taylor ABC)

Jack Osbourne and his partner Cheryl Burke are getting along like quarreling siblings. She's like your older sister vulgar and crass he said as they worked on this week's cha cha in rehearsals. They did a 1970s themed number cheered on by dad Ozzy mom Sharon and real sister Kelly Osbourne. Bruno said his hip action was lacking. Carrie Ann said it was not your best at all. His steps were too big and his arm was doing amorphous things. Len loved his commitment. Scores 7 7 8 22

Valerie Harper said her biggest challenge this week in addition to her sore knees had been remembering steps when the music comes on. I get so mad at myself She played Grace Kelly in their cha cha. She looked cute in her blond wig but definitely struggled with the steps. Bruno said You went wrong so many times. Carrie Ann said You lost your way throughout the whole dance but praised her ability to bring grace to the routine. Len said it was flying coach on a cheap airlines a little uncomfortable a little bit bumpy but you landed safely. Scores 6 5 5 16

Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein during Week Two of 'Dancing With the Stars.'(Photo Adam Taylor ABC)

Bill Nye coping with that torn tendon visited his doctor who told him short of a wheelchair I wouldn't recommend any sort of dancing next week. Not good.

But Nye told Brooke Burke Charvet The leg feels pretty good because we've been working on it. We've been icing and the red light the cool laser and so it's pretty good. She asked him about a crazy treatment he had undergone this week for the injury and he explained he had platelet rich plasma which is where they take platelets from your blood in your arm and poke them into the tendon and to be repaired area. It excites the cells in the right way to bring 'em around faster than they would otherwise.

Nye danced a futuristic robot jazz dance to Daft Punk's Get Lucky a genius idea that meant he didn't have to move much which is good for the leg but not good for a dancing competition. Of course the crowd loved it. Bruno said it was very entertaining. Carrie Ann said it was astounding and praised the choreography. Len praised his determination. Scores 6 5 5 16

For the insta elimination it came down to Christina Milian and Bill Nye. Who had the lowest combined score from viewers' votes last week and tonight's judges scores

Bill Nye

There were boos from the ballroom and then chants of Bill Bill

There are people here who are working so hard who are so good. You see how they're improving every week. I'm not going to be able to keep up with that said Nye. But what breaks my heart is Tyne's not going to be able to stay. She's fantastic. He went on to thank fans and added It's really been cool.
