The Sound of Music ABC Sunday 7 ET/PT

On the heels of NBC's live TV special comes ABC's annual repeat of the movie one of the most popular Hollywood has ever produced. In a nod to the spirit of the season we'll refrain from using the film version to rehash what went wrong with the TV one and instead just point out that anyone watching the TV version no doubt left it with renewed respect for the film and in particular Julie Andrews' and Christopher Plummer's performances. In case you doubted those roles are harder to pull off than they may look.

The Shop Around the Corner/In The Good Old Summertime TCM Sunday 8 ET/5 PT

Had enough Music TCM offers two classics that while not exactly Christmas movies do set their pivotal scenes during the holiday. (Yes that also goes for Summertime which despite the oddly chosen title mostly takes place in the winter.) Both are based on the same Hungarian play that also inspired the Broadway musical She Loves Me and the 1998 film You've Got Mail.

The Good Wife CBS Sunday 8 30 ET/PT

No current show had a better fall than this CBS legal drama which was just named one of the year's best by the American Film Institute. If you missed this pivotal episode it's running again on Sunday. And if you watched it well like most episodes of The Good Wife it's worth watching again.
