Emma Watson proved herself as somewhat of a red carpet maverick last night. While on paper her red Dior couture dress might sound a tad safe and encroaching on Jennifer Lawrence's territory as brand ambassador it couldn't have been more of a Golden Globes game changer.
From the front Watson's crew neck ribbon tie dress might have been considered a little too demure for the 23 year old. Until the dramatic front slit came into play.

As the former Harry Potter starlet turned for the cameras flashes increased as Watson showed off the backless feature of her couture choice. But unlike red carpet sirens that merely plump for a pair of high waist briefs under their sheer gowns Watson donned a pair of cropped dark satin trousers. Her blue Roger Vivier Ergo Sexy pumps said that this was a lady in command and she wasn't even nominated for an award.

Proving that being on set of Sofia Coppola's film The Bling Ring a tale of LA kids robbing celebrity houses for their designer gear had rubbed off on her Watson also modelled spring's much coveted Mise en Dior pearl earring. In just one lobe naturally.

The best part though was that while she had her sartorial cake and ate it she was spotted arriving in LA with a large slice of greasy takeaway pizza. Pepperoni no less.
That's our girl.
